Slavery was over in 1865 and reconstruction began in 1866 and that was the onset of increased  strange fruit on trees. Once you listen to why men were picked up and put in jail for life, the words will make you remember, what your Grandmother told you not to do. “Don’t be hangin out in the street gamblin.”” Make sure you pay all your bills on time!”

If you did not listen this could mean, life in prison, which was worse then slavery. This law lasted until 1942.

“It maybe true that the law cannot make a man love me, but it can keep him from lynching me, and I think that’s pretty important.”

Rev.Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
